First English Lutheran Preschool | Articles of Agreement

1. A $55.00 registration fee is due at the time of application. This is a non-refundable fee. A $20.00 church usage fee is due prior to the beginning of school; each additional children in the family will be $10.

2. Tuition rates are printed in the registration packet, Parent Handbook, and preschool policies handbook. Families with more than one child in attendance at First English Lutheran Preschool will receive a 10% discount on tuition for each child after the first. 

*Fees are due the first day of each month starting August 1st to April 1st.  All tuition fees are paid one month ahead.  The August payment will be applied for September! Fees may be turned into the office staff or sent in the mail. Tuition will be considered late if paid after the 10th of the month. A $10 late fee will be imposed if tuition is paid after the 10th. 

3. Each child must have her/his physical examination form completed and signed by a physician, including immunization records, along with showing her/his birth certificate for verification, and completing the general information form, field trip release form, and emergency card prior to the first day of school.  Birth certificate verification are needed only when the child enrolls for the first time in the program. 

4. Your child’s files are confidential, open only to the FELP staff and you, unless you or a court order gives us permission to open them to someone else.

Classes will be offered Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday from 9:00-11:45 for the Two/Three’s Class.  Friday from 9-11:45 will be offered if enough interest; Monday through Friday, 9:00-12:00 for the Three/Four’s Class; Monday through Friday, 9:00-12:00 for the PreK Class. We will also offer an extended day program Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday until 2:00 p.m. in the Pre K classes;  Tuesday extended day until 2pm will be offered  in the 3/4 class. Extended days will be offered if 8 or more children sign up. If class sessions are not adequately full (refer to the Registration Information Letter) we have the right to cancel any class session. 

6. Parents/Primary Caregivers are responsible for transportation to and from school. Car pools may be arranged between families if desired. 

7. Parents/Primary Caregivers are expected to attend Parent/Teacher conferences at the request of the teacher and to keep communication lines open at all times. Teachers are available in person, by phone, and e-mail.

8. Pictures of the children enrolled in the school may be used on our Facebook page, website, and/or for future publicity releases. If you prefer that your child’s face not be used on our Preschool Facebook page please notify the staff in writing.

9. Parents/Primary Caregivers will read and follow the guidelines set forth in the Parent Handbook, as well as all policies distributed at the onset of the school year, in all matters. The Parent Handbook and Policies Booklet will be e-mailed to all parents at the start of the school year.  If you would like a paper copy of either document, please contact the director.

10. Parents/Primary Caregivers will accompany their child on a daily basis to and from the classroom and sign them in on the attendance sheet. Children shall never be left in the classroom until a teacher is in the classroom and ready to begin the school day at 8:55am. 

11. Children WILL NOT be released to anyone other than the child’s Parents/Primary Caregivers (or those listed on the emergency card without parent notifying the child’s teacher or the director in advance.) 

12. Children must be picked up from preschool at the designated times (11:45 a.m., noon, 2p.m). If you are late for a first time, a verbal reminder will be given. The second time late, a written warning will be given. The third time late, a charge of $5.00 (6-15 minutes late), or $10.00 (16-30 minutes late) will be assessed. This charge then doubles for the fourth time late. After this, the Board of Directors will determine the charge. Please phone the office in the event that you will be late picking your child up. We also ask that you report absences to the office prior to the beginning of the school day. 

13. You may add the extended day portion after the school year begins if you had initially registered for mornings only. Adding after the school year begins will be at the discretion of the classroom teachers or Director.  Your child must be enrolled in the extended day portion to stay until 2:00 p.m.--it cannot be used on occasion, except in an emergency. 

14. If you intend to be a driver for field trips, we MUST provide a copy your driver’s license and proof of insurance prior to the field trip day. These documents will be kept on file in the office and destroyed at the end of each school year. 

15. If the Parents/Primary Caregivers will not be reachable at the home telephone number during the school day, we must have the alternate number where you can be reached (I.e. cell phone, work phone, relative’s phone, etc.). 

16. A partial tuition refund will be discussed if the preschool is closed for more than 3 days that your child attends due to inclement weather or other emergencies. 

17. E-mail will be the primary method of communication between the preschool and the parents, regarding notices, upcoming events, and newsletters.  If you prefer paper copies of this communication, please make your request known to the director.

18.  Class curriculum will be posted near each classroom and parents/caregivers will refer to each month’s list of standards and skills on their own time.  Lesson plans will be emailed to families (hard copies are available) and parents/caregivers will use these as a bridge of communication between home and school.

We also agree not to hold liable the school, First English Lutheran Church, the director, teachers, or associate teachers in the event of any damage or loss of property brought to school by the child or parent.
